If We Do Not Learn From History ...

"In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes." Judges 17:6

These words are so appropriate to us today. A nation's leaders who fail to lead to the high ground end up destroying their own nation. History is full of examples of this very thing. Sexual immorality is usually the straw that breaks the back of a nation. Indecisive leaders lead to license for the citizens. Bill Clinton's immoral behavior, without being prosecuted, led to the citizens following suit. As goes the leaders, so go the people. I heard a general say recently that his behavior would have received a court martial, yet the Commander In Chief receives on real punishment. This is a clear double standard which is despised by those in our military and our citizens.

Our leaders, most of them, are condoning a sickening lifestyle called homosexuality. This only leads to more sexual perversion in the nation. It is a downward spiral into meltdown. I have recently had the privilege of attending a briefing in Washington D.C., and heard some of our senators, representatives, attorneys, strategists and others who were aflame with righteousness and their righteous cause and who do lead to the moral high ground. These men and women stood like Lincolns, Washingtons and Adams. They are full of fire to restore America's way of life and her foundations. Freedom burns in their hearts and justice is at their core. I am thankful for such men and women who are determined to do what is right for this nation and her citizens. May their tribe increase. The following verses make their kind stand out clearly.

'And the Lord said to him, "Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst. As for you, son of man, groan with breaking heart and bitter grief, groan in their sight. And it will come about when they say to you, 'Why do you groan?' that you will say, 'Because of the news that is coming; and every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes and it will happen,' declares the Lord God."  Ezekiel 9:4-7

If we do not stem the current tide of trash legislation and trashy legislators, we will feel the sting of God's judgment on America. We, like Israel in ancient times, are not immune to judgment if we continue to thumb our noses in His face. If the downward trend continues, be warned that we are in for very hard times. Remember the stock market crash? Remember the depression? Remember the dust bowl years?
