It struck me today that the best definition for cowardice is expecting someone else to do what is your rightful duty to do for yourself. To expect other young men and women to protect you from harm, then turn around and slander them for doing it, is the height of cowardice and arrogance. This includes folks who claim conscientious objection status for religious purposes. The Bible does NOT say that fighting in a just war is murder. Murder is committing homicide, not defending yourself when attacked by an enemy.
Draft dodgers have been around for a long time. They 'ran' to Canada during the Vietnam War and then whined their way back into America after the war, and are now continuing to whine today. It is amazing how many of the biggest slanderers are liberals who never saw military duty themselves. They only see fit to attack our protectors while refusing to lift a finger to fight for the country themselves. Patriotism is very much alive among this young generation and career military folks. I never thought that I would live to see the day when our brave soldiers would receive anything but praise from a grateful nation. Berkeley is an example of godless influences infiltrating the fabric of our society. It should be called what it is: Socialism, Communism and any other isms you can think of.
If one visits Washington D.C., we see no statues erected to critics, only those who are criticized. I don't find any statues to the press, or Hollywood etc., only soldiers and patriots who died to protect those who criticized them in the past and at present.
So, which side are you on this Memorial Day? Are you a critic or a cheer leader for those who protect the rest of us?
PS I am proud to say that I served our nation during the Vietnam War in the U. S. Air Force as a jet fighter crew chief. I still get cranked up when I smell jet fuel in the air!
