Let's Deal A Death Blow To Racism

I am a great lover of America. I thank God daily that He positioned just the right men and women in place to bring this great nation into existence, at just the right time in history. Why did it take over two hundred years for America, as we know it, to come into place? The timing was just not right for freedom to drive patriots to defend what they held so dear. Those fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence, twenty-nine of which held theological degrees, literally laid down everything they held dear in order to give future generations a lasting freedom from those who hated individual freedoms, such as the monarchical system in Europe.

This nation's leaders have not been perfect people along the way, but there has been steady progress toward total liberty for all citizens. Slavery was abolished because Christian and other moral people refused to accept the Jim Crow laws and multiple other measures being pushed by the liberals of that day. Today, during this particular election cycle, the liberal media and many of others are using the race card to drive a wedge between people of color, including the white color. Much of the progress that has been made to end racial divisions is being reversed by their race bating comments.

I have a genuine love for all human beings and hold no animosity against any people. I have travelled around the world, in mission work, and have found that no matter what color of skin I saw, I found loving, gracious, generous and caring people just under it. Skin color is such a bogus issue that divides black, white, yellow, brown and red people. God made one man and one woman and all of humanity came from these original parents. Now you may feel that you came from an ape, but you'll have grave difficulty proving that. Geographical and the type of food people eat have most to do with skin color. The DNA is consistent between the so-called races. I am totally convinced that there is only ONE RACE, the human race. The word ethnicity best describes people groups, not race. Arrogance and attitudes of superiority drive the race wars, as it has for centuries. I am NO better or worse than another person because of skin color, economic circumstances or any other man made factors. America was founded to get away from the class structures of Europe! I find it sickening to hear people from both sides of the political debate using defaming comments. This is something that we must stop before this issue blows up in our faces. Why is Michelle Obama, Rev. Wright and others so upset about? They are still stinging from the way they were treated by white people during their growing up years. Try being black in America today. You will find why it still infuriates them if you will. I was brought up in the south and saw the two classes of people clearly. This is not a God given thing; it is LEARNED from parents and influential people around us such as teachers etc. I find it self-degrading for black people to use the 'N' word to describe themselves. Why use such a painful term about yourself? You are a person of great worth in the eyes of God and should be in the eyes of God-fearing people.

There are multiplied millions of people, of all colors, that genuinely hold very little prejudice. They have matured to the point that they are ok with themselves and others around them. You see, the very word means to pre-judge someone before you get to know them. There are evil people in all people groups and decent, god-fearing and hard working people too. I don't know if we will ever see this problem ended at any time in the future. It can end right now as we choose to end the prejudice that does exist in our own hearts, and we all have some. The word CHANGE is being used in politics today. How about if we start in our own hearts right now? Let’s practice loving our neighbors as ourselves, as our God and Savior commanded us to do, and begin going out of our way to greet others and get to know them, IF they will let us. If they won't, then go on your way with a happy heart knowing that you tried to do the right thing and knowing that you actually did leave your loving mark on the heart of another human being. If we do this, we could set off a chain reaction that will topple what courts, politicians and governments have not been able to accomplish. It only takes one person to start it running.
