Today, we have arrogant men and women running around trying to legislate, and rule from the bench, to throw God out of America. Their other buddies, the United Nations, are trying to rule the whole world and throw God out of His own planet. They see themselves like little 'gods' who feel that they have the right to run the lives of everyone else in this country and the world. This is especially appropriate in California these days. Everything from telling them that they know better how to raise your kids than you do, to forcing you to accept the perversion of homosexuality in your classrooms and condoning the twisting of all that marriage is to you. These people act as though the tax money that they collect is their own and feel that they are being generous when they allow some of it to come back to those who earned it in the first place. There is a Psalm that adequately speaks of these little demagogues and the ultimate result of their actions. It ends with what they had better do in order to avoid the wrath of THE GOD.
"Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 'Let us tear their fetters (restraints) apart and cast away their cords (moral standards) from us!' He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, 'But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.' I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'
Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the Lord with reverence and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!" Psalm 2:1-12
Note the number of times that the Son or Anointed is mentioned. This speaks of none other than the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The only hope that these and all mankind has when we face God is to do as the final verses instruct us to do. Humble our proud hearts, worship Him as God and take refuge in Him from the awful wrath of God against those who thumb their noses at His right to do as He pleases. You may scoff at this word yourself, but if you do you will regret it just one minute after you die. Please note, there is no second chance after you die. Our decision must be made BEFORE we die.
“... for He says, at the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you. ' Behold, now is "the acceptable time,' behold, now is 'the day of salvation' " 2 Corinthians 6:2
