Our nation has a multitude of major problems today, but there is one that is at the root of all the rest. SIN! When the people of America honor God and His word there is prosperity, peace and safety. This nation has been protected unlike any nation in human history, with the exception of Israel.
When we faced the greatest evil that we have ever faced, the Nazi insanity of WWII, we turned to God in prayer, repentance and obedience to His commands. President Roosevelt's prayer stands as a memorial for a nation that turned to God for protection and victory. Today, we have legislated God right out of public life and the nation is reeling under this condition. If we want to see America return to her former glory we must, as a nation, turn from our own sinfulness and return to obedience to the God who has blessed our land for over two hundred years. Today, we are seeing a pagan revival unlike anything in our history. Right is wrong and wrong is now right. Our elected officials are thumbing their noses at everything God says and are ignoring the will of the American people. They are fulfillling the will of a small majority of our citizens and removing our God-given freedoms daily.
The current liberal leadership of America is the most godless bunch that I have ever seen at the helm of the ship of state. God simply will not protect a nation that sheds innocent blood and since the bogus passing of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, America has murdered around 50,000,000 innocent babies, not to mention how many have been killed in Petri dishes. Paganism kills the innocent in the name of sexual freedom and always has. This is rampant in America today.
If we expect the blessings of God on America we had best do the things that please God, not the things that anger Him. Our legislatures, judges and media are promoting every form of perversion and trying to legalize it. What God says is an abomination, Hollywood and our government say should become legal. All one has to do is to take a stroll through history to discover that all nations that accepted homosexuality, adultery, sex before marriage and the killing of its children are now on the ash heap of history. God allowed His chosen people Israel to do as it pleased and it cost the lives of countless thousands of its people. He tore them from their Promised Land and sent them to Babylon as slaves for seventy (70) long years and then when they returned to the land they were not free to take up where they left off. An entire generation of Israelites died in the wilderness during their forty years of wandering and then their children went in to possess the promises of God for they acted in faith and obedience to God.
Lest any of us think for a moment that God will not repeat this judgment on this nation, I challenge you to read it for yourself from the beginning to the end of the Bible. Shedding innocent blood, sexual perversion and blatantly ignoring His commands are the things that God always deals with most harshly. Is there hope for America? You had better believe it, but this hope lies in God's people taking action to right wrongs. It is laid out very clearly in the following, well known passage.
"If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
You see, it begins FIRST in the people of God and then spreads to the rest of the nation. If you claim to know this God then you must make the first move. But will you and I make the move soon enough? Israel waited too long in many cases and they suffered horribly for their unfaithfulness.
I predict that if God's people do nothing about the degrading sins of this nation, then He will bring on us whatever suffering that is necessary to get our attention. Millions of professed followers of God voted for a candidate for president in spite of his blatant positions on these moral issues. Many younger voters said that these were not important issues. Nothing could be further from the truth. We had better wake up before the judgment hand of God falls on us suddenly. This is genuinely as serious as a heart attack.
