I just got a series of replies to a blog that I posted saying that I was being judgmental. I wrote a reply to them but in case they did not get it here is my reply in longer terms.
As a Christian pastor, my job is to expose evil wherever I find it and to name names in order to restore righteousness to our nation. Today, we seem to believe in the Christian family that we are never to say anything negative about anyone or anything. This is NOT Christian in any way. If more pastors today would teach the WHOLE Bible to their congregations then we would have less of this kind of thinking.
Usually there is a general ignorance of the WHOLE Bible today. It is said by the experts that this is the most spiritually illiterate generation of Christians in history. I often hear Christians making the most off the wall comments and thinking that they are being biblically correct.
Most pastors today have been dumbed down either by political correctness or by the Feel Good sermon mentality. This mentality is based on never saying anything negative but only using the Scriptures that are filled with Happy Talk like the Glad Game that Haley Mills played in the movie Pollyanna. In this movie the pastor of the town church was totally controlled by one woman, the equivalent of today's political correct crowd.
Let me give you just a few of these passages to which I refer.
"I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." 2 Timothy 4:1-5
Let's try Jesus Himself on this topic.
Matthew 23:13 ¶ "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
Matthew 23:14 ["Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive greater condemnation.]
Matthew 23:15 ¶ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.
Matthew 23:23 ¶ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.
Matthew 23:25 ¶ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.
Matthew 23:27 ¶ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.
MAT 23:29 ¶ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous..."
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Need I go on? The Bible is filled with such passages that speak of Hell/Lake of Fire, judgment for sins such as happened in the forty year wilderness wanderings of the Jewish people, judgments on unrighteous nations that oppressed Israel and on and on and on. Let me ask you, when was the last time you heard a sermon on these topics? Is it acceptable to be homosexual or shack up and still be a Christian? What does the Bible say about these topics? Is it ok to murder an unborn baby in the name of Choice? God hates the shedding of innocent blood and America has murdered almost fifty million of her citizens before they had the chance to live.
The average pastor today makes it a point of avoiding such topics as it might offend someone. Charles Finney, pastor and evangelist of the Second Great Awakening period in America in the 1800's wrote an article in 1871 entitled, "Preaching So As To Convert Nobody." In it he outlined sixty-seven (67) things that preachers can do to scratch the ears of their congregations and yet never bring one of them to genuine Christian faith. I charge you to look it up and read it. It is only about four pages and well worth your investigation.
I write this to say to all who are quick to judge anyone who is willing to stand out in the crowd by being one who would give his very life to see America experience a Third Great Awakening. I am convinced, along with a number of others who love this nation greatly, that if America does not experience a revival in the Christian church which should lead to this great awakening that America will cease to be the nation that we now know. This is RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP and most Christians do not even know that it is happening to them. It is time for believers to do the research and find out the condition of our nation right now. Television news, especially those who are formed from our alphabet (NBC, ABC, MSNBC etc.), will not give you the truth today. Fox News is a reliable source plus Townhall.com is the two sources I use most. I am constantly doing research and desire to print only the truth. I sometimes am fooled and I am quick to admit it when I have been. Snopes has proved to be unreliable especially on liberal political issues. TruthOrFiction.com is the most reliable source that I have found.
You be the judge for yourself. Is America more godly today than a year ago, two years ago, ten years ago, fifty years ago and so on? I think you will agree that our nation is losing its godly foundations by the day. I MUST speak out when I see evil or harm on the horizon and I will continue to write about it and speak it no matter what the political establishment tells me. The truth is often seen as Hate Speech. You be the judge, is telling the truth hate or is it those who would destroy the freedoms of Americans the true hate speech of today?
