Yesterday, the House voted 240 to 179 to censure Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) for saying the President was lying about aspects of his health care reform plan. What was more telling than the vote was the rhetoric that surrounded it. Those pushing to publicly flog Wilson avoided the subject at hand, the health care reform plan and whether or not the President's statements were false.

Rather, House members like Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) and Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) used the opportunity to say Wilson’s actions were motivated by racial animus. In an interview with CNN, Johnson said "I guess we'll probably have folks putting on white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside, intimidating people. That's the logical conclusion if this kind of attitude is not rebuked." On ABC's World News, referring to Wilson's comments, Lee said "Hate speech can turn into hate crimes."

Working out of the Left's classic playbook, former President Jimmy Carter, interviewed on NBC Nightly News, chimed in not only on Wilson's comments but on the public opposition to the President's liberal plans saying, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American." This is a classic move by the Left when they can't win the policy debate; they try to marginalize their opponents by calling them racist.

COMMENT: It is interesting to see the RACE card played out by the Obama administration since he was elected with over 90% of the black vote and a large percentage of white votes assured his election. The Mormons cried the same thing with Romney when it looked like he would not be the Republican man. Race cards seem to pop up randomly or actually on purpose. When your position starts to fall apart then it is time to try and manipulate the system to guilt trip people into submission. Well this time WE ARE NOT BUYING IT. I am not a racist nor are the vast majority of Americans and we deeply resent being labeled this by weaklings of any color. Those who have labeled conservatives as anything negative will find that we will vote against them in the next election where they run for reelection. We don't want children running our government and this is purely childishness.

The Washington Times this week ran a headline, "Looking for the next Van Jones." But FRC already identified him in June-radical homosexual activist Kevin Jennings, appointed by Education Secretary Arne Duncan to head the Officer of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. Jones, President Obama's "green jobs" czar, was caught using profanity in reference to Republicans; Jennings has directed his profanity at God Himself! Jones merely signed his name to a conspiracy myth about the September 11 attacks; but Jennings has spent decades actively and successfully promoting myths about homosexuality to schoolchildren as founder of the radical Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GSLEN). Van Jones was done in by two key charges and one taped quote; FRC documented at least seven outrageous facts about Jennings and five inflammatory quotes in documents we released in June (see www.stopjennings.org).

 

Let's go back to the eight years of the Bush administration and see if we can remember any "angry rhetoric of anger" in the liberal mouths in congress. It would take the number of volumes equal to the Encyclopedia Britannica to record them all. It was not just rhetoric of anger, it was vehement hatred for him and everything he tried to accomplish. They fought him all the way. In his speech before the joint session of congress the liberals sat uniformly with arms folded and even murmured out loud during his speech. Again, we have blatant hypocrisy demonstrated by these disgruntled liberals at the thought that the American people would oppose them and stop their Socialist agenda. Too bad Nancy, we do oppose you and I hope that enough California voters will oppose you when you come up for re-election. Parting will be such sweet sorrow? No, just sweet!

In Mr. Obama's speech to the joint session of congress he said that there are those OUT THERE who are "bearing false witness." This is the same thing as saying, "You are a liar!" Now, will Obama apologize for this or will he have to be censured by congress as was Joe Wilson. And, Nancy Pelosi called the CIA liars too and yet no forthcoming apology was heard. What sheer hypocrisy we see on the LEFT side of the aisle in congress and in the White House. Hypocrisy is just as bad as being a liar isn't it?

"To whom would you liken Me and make Me equal and compare Me, that we would be alike? Those who lavish gold from the purse and weigh silver on the scale hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god; they bow down, indeed they worship it. They lift it upon the shoulder and carry it. They set it in its place and it stands there. It does not move from its place. Though one may cry to it, it CANNOT answer; it CANNOT deliver him from his distress."  Isaiah 46:5-7

"Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame. Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit? Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame. The man shapes iron into a cutting tool and does his work over the coals, fashioning it with hammers and working it with his strong arm. He also gets hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and becomes weary. Another shapes wood, he extends a measuring line; he outlines it with red chalk. He works it with planes and outlines it with a compass, and makes it like the form of a man, like the beauty of man, so that it may sit in a house. Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow. Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it. Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, 'Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire.' But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, 'Deliver me, for you are my god.' They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend. No one recalls, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say, 'I have burned half of it in the fire and also have baked bread over its coals. I roast meat and eat it. Then I make the rest of it into an abomination, I fall down before a block of wood!' He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver himself, nor say, "Is there not a lie in my right hand?"  Isaiah 44:9-20

This is exactly why God, in the first and second commandments, said, "You shall have on other gods besides Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is seen in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them..." Exodus 20:2-5a

Since God is the only true God, He made it clear to mankind to avoid making idols to lead them astray from the truth. The Christian church is to avoid statues in any form. Some groups have statues of Mary, Jesus and former preachers that they display in the house of worship. This is idolatry according to God and should be avoided. People come to worship these statues rather than the one true God. I have seen this with my own eyes. The paint on these idols is worn off as the worshippers touch them as they enter to worship. The world would be better off if all religious idols were destroyed. Whether it is a black stone or a wooden or golden statue, they should be avoided at all cost. Truth is a delicate thing and can be distorted so easily. Billions of people around the world are enslaved to idol worship. I always rejoice when I see one destroyed. Your faith is not in the idol since it can do NOTHING for you. Your faith should be in the one true God, the God of the Bible, since He can and will answer your prayers. It all begins by simply calling on His name. He waits to forgive you of your sins and to adopt you into His forever family through placing your trust in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. You see, He died there and took the punishment for your sins and mine so that we could be forgiven. He loves you more than you can imagine. The Christian God is the only one who loves His creation, all humanity, and the only God who gave Himself to take man's sins away. Read the books of the Gospel of John and Romans to get the full picture of this wonderful gift.

"Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, 'I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. IF ONLY you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your well-being would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants would have been like the sand, and your offspring like its grains' their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.' “               Isaiah 48:17-19

IF ONLY you had paid attention to My commandments! This is a major problem in America today. Everyone seems bent on doing his or her own thing in his or her own way. There is a great element of this even in the Christian church when denominational leaders choose to follow the politically correct thing rather than the biblically correct thing. America will continue a downhill slide until believers first choose to obey the commandments of God rather than do whatever feels good or right in their own eyes. Which is more important, having things our way and losing our freedoms or doing it God’s way and finding freedoms beyond our wildest dreams?

This was written originally to Israel and the same can be said about the nation of Israel and the Jewish people around the world. Take a second read of this passage and see for yourself what God promised to do for you IF ONLY you paid attention to His commandments.

 

Sometimes truth just has to be spoken out in public meetings as we saw with Joe Wilson during Mr. Obama's deception before congress. I seriously doubt that Obama even knows what IS in the healthcare disaster that he is pushing. It IS obviously IN the bill since Mr. Wilson HAS read it as well as many others who say the same thing. Sometimes the spin of DC gets so sickening that one must just throw up at the sound of one more blatant lie. Obama is trying to turn America into a Socialist/Communist nation like his hero Karl Marx, not one of the Marx brothers, who pushed this evil on countless millions around the world. Mr. Obama, we do not want to hear you tell us any more lies, especially what is NOT in the bill when it IS in the bill and try to slander anyone who exposes your deception. We don't want to even hear your plans for a Brown Shirt army of volunteers like your buddies in ACORN. We will leave our defense with our military and police. I am getting like the elderly woman who advertised her TV for sale because she got so sick of hearing Obama's voice. Thank God for those who are still standing for truth and the American way. These are the true heroes of the hour. God bless America!
