On a Fox interview, Leonard Jacobs, a liberal, when commenting on the choice by the DNC of a video that shows the desecration of the American flag, said that this is covered under the first amendment, yet I wonder if he would have the same comment about the hate crimes bill that removes the first amendment rights of the vast majority of Americans? Talk about your ultimate hypocrisy!

"Americans' health care is too important to risk on one gigantic bill that was negotiated behind closed doors," Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.) said yesterday. Unfortunately, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) doesn't share his philosophy and waited until this morning to let Americans in on her secret overhaul of the system. After long weeks of keeping voters--and Members--in the dark, Pelosi's version of reform is finally public. From what we can tell, her plan retained little of what was hashed out in committee. Instead of relying on collaboration, the bill is solely a Pelosi product that makes a mockery of the committee process.

Although she claims the legislation isn't a "robust public option," it clearly is. What she proposes would lead to a government takeover of health care and steamroll private plans in the process. Any cost-conscious Members will still be troubled by the price of reform. Depending on whom you ask, Pelosi's plan is slated to cost anywhere from $900 billion to more than $1 trillion in 10 years.

Of course, FRC's greatest concern is that the Speaker's bill still includes government-funded abortion over the loud protests of Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.). "We have to have a vote," he told C-SPAN. "I don't know why we have to change that basic principle in our law." Nor do 39 House Democrats who are committed to killing the bill if they cannot amend the plan. "The Speaker is not happy with me," Stupak said. But there's an easy solution for Pelosi: exclude abortion funding from the final bill.

According to a new poll, plenty of Americans would support her in that decision. The idea of taxpayer-funded abortion is hugely unpopular among a large sample of U.S. women. WomenTrend, a division of the polling company, just released new numbers from a sweeping survey and found that 67% of women regardless of age, race, region, and marital and parental status don't believe the government should pay for abortion (page 10). Even in Pelosi's own party, a majority (55%) of Democratic women are unwilling to subsidize abortions. This issue is a non-partisan no-brainer. Yet Speaker Pelosi's "abortion is healthcare" position was on display today, as she was joined at the press conference introducing her bill by notorious late term abortionist Leroy Carhart.

Apparently, our nation is never too broke to advance a radical social agenda. The agency released a statement on the Center last week, saying its purpose would be to "help community-based organizations understand the unique needs... of older LGBT individuals and assist them in implementing programs for local service providers..." In the release, HHS regurgitates the Left's propaganda to justify the waste, claiming that "1.5 to 4 million" LGBTs are age 60 and older. In reality, HHS has no idea how many LGBT seniors exist. No one does! The movement is only a few decades old, and people who are 80- or 90-years-old didn't grow up in a culture where it was acceptable to identify with this lifestyle.

Of course, the real tragedy here--apart from the unnecessary spending--is that, given the risks of homosexual conduct, these people are less likely to live long enough to become senior citizens! Yet once again, the Obama administration is rushing to reward a lifestyle that poses one of the greatest public health risks in America. If this is how HHS prioritizes, imagine what it could do with a trillion dollar health care overhaul!

Democrats like Sen. Michael Bennet (Colo.) fired back, arguing that "we've seen a marked increase in hate crimes." But the data doesn't support his claim. The FBI's statistics on hate crimes actually show a decrease in the number of hate crimes being reported. In the most recent year for which statistics are available, 2007, the FBI found that 7,624 hate crime incidents were reported. Racially motivated incidents were 50.8% of the total, followed by religiously motivated incidents at 18.4%, then ones motivated by "sexual orientation" bias at 16.6%.

To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

To provide and maintain a Navy;

To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Ere-tion (site won't allow the spelling of the word... C is missing) of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; And

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

IT IS TIME for the American people to have a Constitutional convention and put these politicians in their place and restore our nation to Constitutional law. These next two elections are our opportunity to do just this. We MUST elect candidates who are strict Constitutionalists and rule of law men and women. Then, we MUST audit all departments of the government and kick out all the folks who are holding down jobs created by those elected for their relatives and friends. We MUST audit Fanny, Freddy, the VA, IRS, MEDICARE and MEDICADE, Social Security and SSI and the list goes on and on. The fraud, corruption and graft are astronomical! It is time to clean house and get our government back to being a lean, mean fighting machine. We MUST restore the military budget to reflect the security needs of our nation while eliminating the corruption there as well.

"This is really dangerous for schools to open their doors that will then be emailing students' information pushing radical homosexual activism," said Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action, "all without their parents' knowledge."
