Television has bombarded the viewing public with "Reality" shows. For the most part, they are anything but reality. They are so staged that a child can see it. If Americans want to get a dose of true reality, the Bible is the book to read. Take note of just one of the Psalms and you will see reality, from the source of reality. God promises blessings beyond our imaginations, yet He also lays out the consequences for those who refuse to do life His way. Remember, He is the One who calls all the shots and will have the final word. Reality is that every human being WILL die. Where they spend eternity is determined by our response to Him in this life. Once we are dead, there is NO second chance. Religions tell us that there will be but if one checks the Bible, no such thing is taught anywhere. Here is just one dose of reality.
"O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods, in whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. For forty years I loathed that generation, and said they are a people who err in their heart, and they do not know My ways, therefore I swore in My anger, truly they shall not enter into My rest." Psalm 95
We will either choose to worship Him or reject His authority over our lives. He gives each human being a choice. He will never coerce anyone. He gives every person total free will to make up their own minds. A smart person will surely make the right choice. Once we are dead, the opportunity to believe is gone. I was ignorant of this wonderful free gift for twenty-seven years of my life, but once I understood what He had to offer me, I turned my back on my sinful lifestyle and turned to God. I have not looked back since. I found the greatest thing that a human can find, forgiveness and a love that is absolutely perfect. Note the last passage.
"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man (*Jesus Christ) whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."
