I am now sixty-four years old, an Air Force veteran and a conservative politically. I have seen a lot of presidents come and go and make big promises, mostly not kept, but I have never seen such a blatant attempt to fundamentally change our form of government and transform our Republic into a Socialist state like I see today.
Do you remember reading about or living through the search for REDS in Hollywood after WWII. I have read of it and studied this time thoroughly, but I was not born until after the BIG WAR. It seemed that the whole of the USA was concerned with the potential take over of the American government by Communist/Socialist infiltrators. This got out of hand and went a bit nuts, but it reminds us that they were very concerned by the threat to our way of life.
Today, especially in the media, with a few exceptions, we see the wholesale sell out of this cherished way of life in favor of Socialism. Mr. Obama made the statement that his favorite hero was Karl Marx. I wonder if these folks have enough sense to come in out of the rain? Most of them have never served our nation in its military, so they do not understand that it took the blood of multiplied thousands to make this nation free from just this sort of evil system. 415,000 in WWII, over 50,000 in Korea, 58,000 in the Vietnam War and this is just a few of the wars this nation has fought to stop the Communist/Socialist take over of the USA.
We have a few voices of reason still boldly speaking out on this issue, but they are demonized by the liberal media as racist, bigots, hate mongers, liars and a multitude of other names. The patriotic citizens who got fed up with the direction of our country and banded together in the Tea Party movement were also demonized and called Nazis, racist etc. etc. etc. ad nausium.
Folks, we are up to our necks in politicians and power brokers who prefer the redistribution of wealth, which was the basic foundation of Socialism, and the numbers back this up as things stand today. Did you know that a full 35% of American receive some form of support from the Federal Government? 35% is a staggering number! The current population of America is 110,000,000, so this gives us an approximate number, off the top of my head, of over 3,000,000 people who don't or can't work for a living. Those who paid into Social Security are getting what they have coming, but a large number of immigrants, legal and illegal, are getting S/S or S.S.I. payments today. On top of this is the protracted unemployment compensation which has become another form of welfare and then there is outright welfare. How many of this number are honest folks who can no longer support themselves and how many of them are outright lazy gluttons who WILL NOT work for a living? These folks do not realize that they are robbing themselves of living a rewarding life. I have dealt with many who said outright that the government OWES them a living. I heard this from the lips of a brother and sister in California who were strong and healthy yet living on welfare with their mother. They were both over 18 at the time and could have been contributing to our economy.
This is too long already, so I will sigh off for now. I hope that these words will stimulate your thinking to do something now to stop this madness before we lose the freedoms we now enjoy.
